Kansas 2016 Tax Updates

The Kansas Department of Revenue made a few minor changes for the 2016 tax year. The most notable is the addition of the Low Income Exclusion. This allows single filers with income of $5,000 or less and married filing jointly filers with income of $12,500 or less to have a Kansas tax liability of $0!

Another change is that both the Agritourism Liability Insurance Credit and the Film Production Credit have expired and carryforwards are no longer allowed past tax year 2015.
