Minnesota 2016 Tax Updates

Minnesota's tax laws had a few changes for 2016. There is a new credit available to parents who experienced the birth of a stillborn child. Also, taxpayers who received a military pension or other military retirement pay will be allowed a subtraction for that amount. However, this subtraction cannot be taken with the Past Military Service Credit.

Tax brackets and credits amounts have been adjusted for inflation. Most credits, including the Property Tax Refund and Renters Credit, have a higher allowable credit amount this year.
