Michigan 2016 Tax Updates

The Michigan Department of Treasury only made a few minor changes that affected the individual income tax returns for 2016. The most significant change is Michigan now allows you to pay any taxes you owe through direct debit when you e-file your tax return! This makes finishing up your taxes easy since you can file and pay at the same time.

The Michigan Department of Treasury continues to allow common credits and deductions for retirement benefits, taxes paid to another state, property taxes, and home heating costs.
